| Reverse description | Crowned quartered shield of the Order of St. John supported by two spread eagle wings emerging from a central body at the base, the whole forming a heraldic achievement. The shield is divided into four quarters alternating the plain cross of the Order on a striped field with a field of lozenge ornaments, a typical arrangement for the Grand Master's arms. A princely crown surmounted by a small cross tops the shield. The date 17 76 is split to either side of the crown in the upper field, and the denomination S. 1. appears below the eagle supporters near the base. |
