Obverse description Central field occupied by the ornate heraldic shield of Pope Clement VIII (Aldobrandini arms), featuring six-pointed stars arranged in bands on a merloned base, all within an elaborate cartouche with foliate and scroll mantling. The shield is surmounted by the papal tiara with three crowns, flanked by the crossed keys of Saint Peter suspended by cords. The circular legend runs along the coin's periphery within a beaded border, reading CLEMENS VIII PONT MAX.
