Obverse description Elaborate papal coat of arms of Clement XIII, centrally displayed within an ornate baroque cartouche adorned with scrolling acanthus foliage. The shield is quartered, bearing the keys of Saint Peter and the tiara of the papacy alongside the Rezzonico family arms featuring diagonal bands and towers. Surmounting the shield is the papal tiara with two crossed keys, and flanking the composition are additional keys. The circular legend reads CLEMENS XIII PONT. MAX. AN. I., denoting the first year of his pontificate, with a small eagle emblem at the base of the field.
