Reverse description Central field features an ornate floriated cross with fleur-de-lis terminals at each arm, characteristic of 16th-century Italian Renaissance goldsmithing traditions. Small crescent-like ornaments are disposed between the arms of the cross, filling the quadrants of the field. A beaded inner border separates the central device from the surrounding legend. The Latin inscription invoking the threefold acclamation of Christ as Victor, King, and Emperor encircles the design, a formula of Carolingian origin widely adopted on Italian medieval and Renaissance coinage.
