Obverse description Within a beaded inner circle, a bold Greek cross divides the field into four quarters, each containing a six-pointed star in relief. The arms of the cross are splayed and elaborately contoured, reflecting the characteristic Genoese heraldic style. A Latin legend in capital letters runs along the outer margin, separated from the inner design by a plain raised border, reading DVX ET GVB REIP GENV, with a cross-shaped ornament serving as a word divider at the top.
