Obverse description A central cross with floriated (flower-terminated) arms is enclosed within a quatrefoil frame. The electoral arms of Saxony, displayed on a shield, are superimposed at the center, with a Latin uncial legend encircling the design within the outer border. The overall composition is characteristic of late-medieval German hammered coinage.
