| Reverse description | Full-length frontal figure of Saint Kilian, patron saint of Würzburg, vested in episcopal pontifical robes and mitre, standing facing within a beaded oval frame. He holds a sword upright in his right hand and a crozier in his left, as attributes of his martyrdom and episcopal dignity. The Latin legend SANCTVS KILIANVS is divided to either side of the figure within the border, reading from left to right. The outer rim is defined by a beaded border consistent with the hammered coinage technique of the period. |
