Obverse description Central shield bearing three horizontal lines, enclosed within a beaded inner circle and surrounded by a circular Latin legend reading the bishop's abbreviated titles. The shield is of a lined or barry design, characteristic of the heraldic arms associated with Bishop Magnus. The legend is separated from the inner device by a beaded border, and the overall strike is irregular, consistent with hammered coinage of the period.
