Obverse description Central field features the Württemberg arms — three stag antlers — displayed on a shield, enclosed within a decorative polylobed or cusped border of Gothic quatrefoil form. The shield is rendered in relief in the characteristic hammered late-medieval style. A beaded inner circle frames the central device, with the circular legend in Gothic uncial characters reading '+ LVDOVICVS COMES IN WIRTEMB' (Ludwig, Count of Württemberg) distributed around the periphery. The overall composition is typical of 15th-century South German coinage.
