| Obverse description | The Württemberg arms — three stag antlers on a quartered shield — displayed within a pronounced tenfoil (ten-lobed) inner border. The heraldic shield is rendered in high relief typical of hammered coinage of the period. A beaded inner circle frames the shield, and a circular Gothic legend in uncial characters surrounds the entire composition in the outer field. |

Louis I of Württemberg-Urach ruled the divided county following the 1442 partition that split Württemberg between the Urach and Stuttgart lines — a division that would persist until reunification under Eberhard im Bart in 1482. Coinage from the Urach line is substantially scarcer than Stuttgart issues of the same period, a direct consequence of the smaller territorial base and correspondingly reduced minting activity.
The Ebner reference places this among a tightly documented series. The long date range reflects reuse of established dies rather than continuous new production.
