Obverse description Four-fold quartered arms of Mainz and Würzburg with the central escutcheon of the Schönborn family, the date divided by the shield on either side, with the denomination mark Z8 (denoting the 1⁄28 Thaler value) positioned in the lower field. The heraldic composition is rendered in the bold, angular style typical of mid-seventeenth-century German ecclesiastical coinage.
