Obverse description Central quartered shield of arms, displaying the Hohenzollern and Brandenburg charges, flanked by the initials R on either side and surmounted by a gothic letter G in the upper field. The shield is rendered in a bold late-medieval heraldic style characteristic of Franconian coinage of the mid-15th century. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by a Gothic legend in the outer field.
