| Obverse description | Central shield bearing the quartered arms of Mecklenburg-Güstrow, surmounted by a crowned helmet with mantling, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The arms display the characteristic bull's head of Mecklenburg and the eagle of Güstrow in the quarters. A circular legend in Gothic-influenced Latin lettering surrounds the central device, running along the inner edge of the beaded border. The overall design is characteristic of early seventeenth-century German hammered coinage, with slightly irregular flan shape typical of the period. |
