Obverse description Central quartered shield displaying four heraldic rosettes (flowers) in each quadrant, surmounted by a small escutcheon bearing the personal arms of Heinrich Reuss von Plauen as Locum Tenens. The shield is set within a circular beaded border. A Latin legend in uncial characters surrounds the design, reading HEnRICVS:LOCVTEnES, identifying the Grand Master's locum tenens.
