Reverse description The reverse displays a long cross with pointed terminals dividing the field into four quarters, each quadrant separated by a row of beads radiating from the centre, a characteristic arrangement of the Reval schilling type. In each of the four segments formed by the cross, portions of the Latin legend MO - NO - REV - ALI are distributed, together reading Moneta Nova Revaliensis (New Coin of Reval). A beaded inner circle frames the cross design, and the flat, worn fields reflect the hammered flan preparation typical of this issue. The overall composition adheres closely to the established schilling reverse format used at the Reval mint throughout the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
