Obverse description Central shield of the Livonian Order displayed within a wreath, superimposed over a cross that quarters the surrounding legend into four sections. The cross divides the field and frames the armorial shield, creating a symmetrical composition characteristic of late medieval Livonian coinage. The legend, rendered in Gothic-influenced Latin lettering, reads in four segments between the arms of the cross. The overall style is consistent with hammered billon coinage of the mid-sixteenth century Baltic region.
