Additional information

Frederick II of Denmark held the duchies of Schleswig and Holstein in personal union with the Danish crown, but their coinage was administered separately under the terms of the 1460 Treaty of Ribe, which bound the duchies together while keeping them legally distinct from Denmark proper. The schilling issues of the 1560s reflect this constitutional oddity — struck for territories that were neither fully sovereign nor simply provincial.

Hede 30A indicates a specific die variant within what is already a sparsely documented type.
