Obverse description Central field displays a quartered heraldic shield bearing the arms of the Bishopric of Münster and the House of Wittelsbach, surmounted by a princely crown. The Münster arms feature the characteristic cross, while the Bavarian lozengy pattern occupies the lower quarters; two rampant lions serve as supporters flanking the shield. The denomination numeral '28' appears at the base of the shield within a cartouche, indicating the coin's value as 1/28 of a Thaler. A circular Latin legend surrounds the entire composition, reading FERD · ELE · CO(28) · EP · MO · BA · DV, abbreviating the titles of Ferdinand of Bavaria as Elector, Count, Bishop of Münster, and Duke of Bavaria. The border is formed by a fine inner beaded ring.
