Obverse description Central field occupied by the heraldic shield of the Teutonic Order Grand Master, bearing a black eagle displayed on the lower portion beneath a small cross patée, the whole shield rendered in Gothic style. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle. A Latin uncial legend in Gothic lettering encircles the design in the outer border, reading continuously around the coin's periphery.

Reverse description A large, boldly struck heater-shaped shield quartered by a plain long cross, forming the distinctive arms of the Teutonic Order, centrally positioned in the field. The shield is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, with a continuous Latin uncial legend surrounding it in the outer border. The design is characteristic of the hammered Schilling coinage issued under the Grand Masters of the Teutonic Order in Prussia.
