Obverse description The arms of Hamburg depicted centrally in the field: a fortified white castle with three crenellated towers surmounted by individual crosses, set above a portcullis gate with an arched opening, all rendered in fine relief. The design closely follows the traditional Hamburg civic heraldic style, with masonry detail visible on the castle walls and towers. A beaded border frames the entire composition.
