Obverse description Central shield bearing the arms of the City of Worms: a divided escutcheon displaying a key in the upper half and a wheel or civic emblem in the lower half, rendered in bold relief typical of late medieval hammered coinage. The shield is set within a beaded inner circle, with a circular legend in uncial Gothic script running around the periphery of the coin. The overall design reflects the municipal heraldic tradition of the Holy Roman Empire.

Reverse description Central device depicts the Virgin Mary seated, nursing or holding the Christ Child, a common devotional image on late medieval German municipal coinage. The figures are presented in a frontal or slightly three-quarter composition within a beaded inner circle, with rays or a glory surrounding the group. A circular legend in uncial Gothic script runs along the outer border of the flan. The style is characteristic of Rhenish hammered silver coinage of the early sixteenth century.
