| Reverse description | Central device depicts a stylised dragon rendered in a distinctly Central Asian artistic manner, shown in profile amid cloud scrolls and waves, with the creature's body coiling prominently in the field. The dragon is enclosed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by an elaborate wreath of floral and foliate sprays issuing from the lower portion and curving symmetrically to either side. A small rosette ornament appears at the top of the wreath. The overall design reflects the hybrid Sino-Islamic aesthetic characteristic of Sinkiang provincial coinage of the late Qing period. |
