Obverse description Draped bust of King Pedro IV facing right, depicted with curled hair and wearing armor with a decorative collar. The legend reads GOA RVPIA arcing along the right field, with the date appearing at the lower portion of the coin. The portrait is rendered in a somewhat crude hammered style characteristic of the Goa mint, with irregular flan edges surrounding the design.

Reverse description The Portuguese royal coat of arms displayed on a quartered shield, featuring the traditional five escutcheons arranged in cross formation with castles in the outer quarters. The shield is surmounted by an elaborate royal crown and flanked by ornamental foliate branches on either side, all struck in the crude hammered style typical of the colonial Goa mint. The irregular flan and hand-struck technique result in characteristic surface irregularities around the central device.
