Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing the royal legend of Zaman Shah Durrani executed in bold Nasta'liq script across the field. The inscription reads 'Sultan Zaman Shah Durani' arranged in two or three lines within an informal cartouche-like layout characteristic of Durrani-era coinage. Decorative pellets or floral ornaments punctuate the field between the lines of text. The irregular flan edge is typical of hand-struck production at provincial Afghan mints of the late 18th century. No figurative imagery is present, in accordance with Islamic numismatic convention.
