Obverse description Central field bearing the first couplet of a Persian poetic inscription in bold Naskh-style Arabic calligraphy, occupying the majority of the flan. The text is arranged in two or three lines within a decorative cartouche framed by floral and foliate scroll-work borders. The outer periphery features a beaded or dotted border partially visible along the coin's irregular edge. The die-work is characteristic of Durrani-period hand-struck coinage, exhibiting deep, confident engraving against a flat field.
