Reverse description Central field bears the two-line denomination ONE RUPEE in bold Roman capitals, below which the equivalent value يک روپیہ is inscribed in Urdu/Nastaliq script. The denomination is encircled by a finely detailed wreath of laurel or olive branches, tied at the base with a ribbon bow and flanked by small floral or star ornaments. The circumferential legend EAST INDIA COMPANY * reads around the upper portion of the rim in Roman capitals, with a small asterisk stop. The date 1835 appears in the lower exergual area beneath the wreath, followed by a pellet stop.
