Obverse description Crude Latin legend filling the entire field, reading VICTORIA QUEEN in two lines across the upper and middle portions of the coin, with the Christian Era date below in large numerals. The inscription is rendered in a bold, naive hand-engraved style characteristic of the local princely state mint, with letters occupying virtually the entire flan within a plain inner circle. No effigy or portrait is present; the design is entirely typographic.
Obverse script Latin
Obverse lettering VICTORIA QUEEN 1865
