Obverse description Central field features a traditional Nepalese square-within-circle decorative framework enclosing a trident (trishula) at its center, a sacred symbol of Shiva. The square panel is subdivided into compartments bearing the royal honorific and regnal inscription in Devanagari script, reading the king's name and titles. Four auspicious symbols occupy the outer corners of the square: a sun, a torch, a lotus flower, and a mace. The Vikrama Samvat date 1989 appears in Devanagari numerals at the lower portion, and the honorific 'Shri Shri' appears prominently at the top of the field, all within a beaded border.
