Obverse description The obverse presents multiple lines of bold Nasta'liq calligraphy filling the central field, divided by a curved horizontal line into upper and lower registers. The upper register bears the royal titles and name of Taimur Shah Durrani in flowing Arabic script, while the lower register contains additional regnal legends. The design is characteristic of Durrani-period Afghan coinage, with densely packed script occupying virtually the entire flan, accented by pellet ornaments distributed throughout the field. The coin's irregular flan and hand-struck character are consistent with the hammered technique employed at Afghan mints of the period.
