| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely occupied by the imperial Persian-script legend arranged in three horizontal registers separated by raised linear borders. The central band bears the name and titles of the emperor Shah Jahan in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy, with floral rosette ornaments punctuating the inscriptions. The upper and lower registers carry additional regnal epithets and invocations, while the broad flat rim frames the composition. The die-work is characteristic of early Mughal hammered coinage, with bold, deeply incused lettering typical of the Daulatabad mint. |

| Reverse description | The reverse field is likewise divided into three horizontal registers by raised linear rules, filled entirely with Persian-script Nasta'liq calligraphy. The central band carries the Kalima or regnal formula, flanked above and below by the mint name Daulatabad and the regnal year (RY 1, Ahad) together with the Hijri date. Floral and foliate ornaments appear between the textual lines, enhancing the decorative quality typical of early Shah Jahan coinage. The rim is flat and plain, consistent with the hammered fabric of the flan. |
