| Obverse description | The obverse displays the Kalima Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) inscribed in elegant Naskh-style Persian script across the central field, reading 'There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the messenger of Allah.' The mint name 'Dar-ul-Khilafa Agra' appears in the lower portion of the field, along with the regnal year 1038 AH. The inscription is arranged in multiple registers, filling the flan in the characteristic Mughal hammered style with no border or decorative elements. The bold, flowing calligraphy is the sole design element, consistent with orthodox Islamic numismatic tradition that eschews figural imagery. |
