Obverse description The obverse bears a multi-line Persian inscription in Nastaliq script arranged within a rectangular cartouche framed by double linear borders, recording the regnal titles and name of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II. The AH date appears within the lower register of the inscription field. The legend is struck in bold relief typical of late Mughal hammered coinage, with the text filling the flan to the rim.
