Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing a three-line Persian-script legend in the field, divided horizontally by a central ruled line characteristic of Mughal-style rupees. The upper register carries the imperial titles of Shah Alam II in Naskh calligraphy, reading 'Shah Alam Bahadur,' while the lower register bears the epithet 'Hami Din Muhammad Saya Fazl Allah.' Pellet ornaments serve as decorative separators between portions of the legend. The overall design follows the standard Mughal imperial rupee format adopted by Gwalior for its Sipri mint issues struck in the name of the Mughal emperor.
