Obverse description Central field bears a three-line Persian inscription in Nasta'liq script arranged in horizontal registers, reading the name and titles of the emperor Shah Alam Bahadur. The AH regnal year appears in the lower exergue. The calligraphy is bold and characteristic of late Mughal hammered coinage, with dotted border elements visible along the rim.
