| Obverse description | Three horizontal registers of bold Arabic calligraphy fill the irregular round flan, executed in the characteristic Mughal hammered style. The central register bears the royal name and titles of Shah Alam Bahadur in large Nasta'liq script. The upper and lower registers contain additional portions of the imperial legend, with the AH date inscribed within the lower register. The legends are rendered in high relief against a flat field, with characteristic dot separators punctuating the inscription. |
