| Obverse description | Struck in the Mughal style, the obverse bears a multi-line Persian legend in bold naskh script arranged in horizontal bands across the irregular flan. The central field displays the auspicious royal formula 'sikka mubarak badshah ghazi' in raised relief. The inscription is framed by linear borders above and below, with additional peripheral legend partially visible at the rim. The coin is attributed to Raghuji II of the Bhonsle Marathas, issuing in the name of the Mughal emperor as was customary for Maratha feudatory coinage of this period. |
