| Reverse description | Hammered reverse displaying three horizontal registers of Persian and Arabic legend in Nasta'liq script within a double-line oval cartouche. The uppermost band bears the pious Arabic invocation Khuld Allahu Mulkahu (May God perpetuate his reign). The broad central field carries the mint name Zarb Ahmadabad (Struck at Ahmadabad) in large, bold characters. The lower register records the regnal year Sana 1152 in Eastern Arabic numerals, corresponding to AH 1152 / AD 1739. The plain field surrounding the cartouche shows the characteristic uneven flan edge of Afsharid hand-struck coinage. |
