Reverse description Central field inscribed in Persian Nastaliq script with the name of the pseudo-mint 'Sawai Jaipur' and regnal year 27, arranged within horizontal registers divided by ruled lines. Decorative diamond-shaped floral ornaments occupy the lower field and margins. The attribution to Sawai Jaipur is a fictitious mint name adopted by Karauli for this coinage, consistent with the practice of Indian princely states issuing rupees in the name of neighbouring or prestigious mints. The flan edges are irregular, typical of hammered production.
