The legend, arranged across the flan, records the mint name Baroda (Atavi) and the regnal year of Shah Alam II's reign, consistent with issues struck under the authority of Manaji Rao of Baroda as a feudatory of the Mughal emperor. The flan is irregular in shape with a milled or plain edge typical of hand-struck princely state rupees of the late 18th century. |
