Reverse description The reverse displays a prominent multi-line Persian legend in Nasta'liq script arranged across the central field, incorporating the mint name Herat and the regnal year in the Islamic Hijri calendar. A bold horizontal division separates the lines of the inscription, a layout typical of Sadozai-era Herati rupees. The legend is surrounded by a circular pellet border mirroring that of the obverse, with additional marginal text curving along the inner edge of the border. The hammered strike results in moderate die shift and surface irregularity across the flan. The overall design reflects the standard calligraphic typology employed at the Herat mint during the reign of Mahmud Shah.
