| Obverse description | Hammered silver flan bearing the royal legend of Sultan Mahmud Shah in flowing Naskh-style Arabic script arranged in two registers across the field, separated by a horizontal band. Floral rosette ornaments occupy the upper and lower corners of the design, characteristic of Durrani-era coinage. The inscription reads 'Al-Sultan al-A'zam Mahmud Shah' within a stylized cartouche formed by the script itself. The irregular flan edge and flat relief are typical of hand-struck provincial issues of this period. |
