Obverse description Central field features a rectangular yantra (sacred geometric diagram) subdivided into compartments, with a trident (trishula) within a circle at its centre. The compartments contain Devanagari syllables spelling the royal name and titles of King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. Flanking the central rectangle are pairs of traditional Nepalese ritual implements — including a sun emblem, a conch shell, and ceremonial lamps — arranged symmetrically within an ornate cartouche border. The Vikrama Samvat regnal date appears at the base of the design. The honorific legend beginning with repeated 'Shri' appears at the top of the field.
