Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing a central rectangular cartouche framed by horizontal ruled lines, containing multi-line Arabic legend in Naskh script. The inscription reads the royal name and titles of Muhammad Akbar with the AH regnal year 1274 prominently displayed in the central field. The surrounding area contains additional Persian script legends filling the upper and lower margins of the coin. The overall design follows the Mughal-derived epigraphic style typical of Gwalior princely state coinage of the mid-nineteenth century.
