Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing the royal name and titles of Emperor Jahangir in bold Nasta'liq calligraphy arranged in two or three lines across the field, with the regal inscription reading 'Jahangir Shah' within a plain border. The legends are executed in deep relief characteristic of Lahore mint workmanship, with the AH regnal year appearing in the lower field. The surface displays the typical irregular flan shape and uneven strike associated with Mughal hammered coinage of the early seventeenth century.
