Obverse description Draped bust of Emperor Guangxu facing left, wearing a traditional Manchu court cap with a finial at the crown and a braided queue visible behind the ear. The imperial garment is richly ornamented with elaborate foliate and floral relief work. A beaded necklace adorns the chest. The portrait is rendered in a Western-influenced engraving style, occupying the majority of the flan, and is contained within an inner beaded border with a reeded outer rim.
