| Obverse description | Central field bears a multi-line Arabic legend giving the name and titles of Amir Habibullah Khan, arranged in a calligraphic Naskh script within a divided cartouche. The Hijri regnal date appears in the lower portion of the central inscription. The entire central device is enclosed by a symmetrical wreath of leafy branches tied at the base, with a six-pointed star at the apex. A fine beaded border runs along the inner rim. |

| Reverse description | Central device depicts a stylised mosque with a prominent central dome and two flanking minarets rendered in outline form. Below the mosque, two cannons are crossed saltire-wise, forming the principal armorial device. An Arabic legend naming Afghanistan curves across the upper field above the mosque. The design is flanked by leafy branches forming a partial wreath, and the whole is contained within a beaded border. |
