| Obverse description | Three horizontal bands of Nastaliq Arabic-Persian inscription filling the coin's field, reading the name and titles of Ghazi ud-din Haidar, King of Awadh. The legends are arranged in parallel registers separated by decorative floral or foliate dividing lines. The regnal year (RY) and AH date appear within the inscription. The overall style is characteristic of Lucknow mint coinage of the early nineteenth century, with bold calligraphic lettering dominating the entire obverse surface. |
