Obverse description The obverse displays a two-line Persian couplet in Naskh script within a central cartouche, reading 'Sikka zad az fazl-e-haq bar seem-o-zar / Badshah bahr-o-bar Farrukhsiyar' (meaning: 'Struck coin on silver and gold by the grace of God / Monarch of sea and land, Farrukhsiyar'). The inscription is framed by an inner dotted border and an outer floral or linear rim, typical of Mughal hammered rupees. The AH date appears within the field, and the overall style reflects the characteristic calligraphic artistry of Mughal imperial coinage. The flan is slightly irregular, consistent with hand-struck production at the Ahmadabad mint.
