| Reverse description | The central device depicts a radiant sun rising above a pair of wheat stalks, symbolising food production and agricultural sustainability, in keeping with the FAO World Food Day theme. The FAO acronym appears prominently in the upper field in Latin script. Bilingual legends surround the central device: खाद्य एवं पर्यावरण in Devanagari and FOOD AND ENVIRONMENT in Latin script identify the commemorative theme, while विश्व खाद्य दिवस and WORLD FOOD DAY appear in the lower field. The date 1989 is inscribed at the bottom of the design. Mint marks below the date identify the issuing facility: a small diamond or dot for Mumbai, a circular dot for Noida, and a five-pointed star for Hyderabad. |
