| Obverse description | The Ashoka Lion Capital, India's national emblem, is depicted centrally in the field, showing three lions atop an abacus decorated with a Dharma Chakra flanked by animals in relief. Immediately below the capital, the national motto 'सत्यमेव जयते' (Satyameva Jayate, meaning 'Truth Alone Triumphs') appears in Devanagari script. The bilingual legend 'भारत' in Devanagari arcs along the left periphery and 'INDIA' arcs along the right periphery. The denomination '1' appears prominently in the lower field, flanked by 'रूपया' in Devanagari to the left and 'RUPEE' in Latin script to the right. |
